About Us
Alfonso Martinez, Ph.D., ABPP
Dr. Martinez graduated with his doctorate in clinical psychology from Purdue University in 1997. He completed his internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He then completed two years of neuropsychology fellowship at the University of Miami Medical Center, one year with adults in the Neurology Department and the other year with children in the Department of Pediatrics. He practiced neuropsychology for eight years in southwest Florida, and moved to Georgia in 2007. Dr. Martinez is one of just a handful of board-certified (ABPP-CN) neuropsychologists in the state.
Dr. Martinez is dedicated to thoroughly examining his patients using the most advanced neuropsychological techniques and tests in order to provide accurate diagnosis and, more importantly, to provide recommendations that will improve their quality of life.

Vanessa Jessie, PsyD
Dr. Jessie graduated with her doctorate in clinical psychology from Adler University in Chicago, IL in 2020. She completed her internship at the Bay Pines Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Florida. She then completed a two-year neuropsychology fellowship at the Milwaukee Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Wisconsin while completing several rotations at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr. Jessie is committed to providing the utmost patient centered care by listening to the patient's and family member's concerns, carefully choosing neuropsychological tests, and offering appropriate recommendations.

Margaret (Peggy) and Thomas (Tom) McBrayer
Peggy and Tom are licensed therapists who have been married 40 years and conduct couple’s therapy as a husband-wife team. They are trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and work collaboratively with couples experiencing distress and disconnection in their relationships to rebuild and strengthen emotional bonds. They believe that strong marriages are the foundation for healthy families and that marriage is worth fighting for. They are committed to helping couples preserve, enhance, and restore their relationships. Their individual information is listed below.
◊ Margaret (Peggy) McBrayer, ACSW, LCSW, LPC
Peggy holds a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Georgia. She has over 37 years of clinical and managerial experience in social service, criminal justice, and clinical settings. During her career, Peggy has worked with children, adolescents, and adults, including seniors.
Her clinical experience has included working with clients experiencing marriage and family issues, mental illness, physical and mental handicaps, survivors of trauma and abuse, and clients dealing with grief and loss. In addition to individual psychotherapy, Peggy has developed and led therapeutic programs/groups for mentally ill clients, victims of domestic violence, and sex offenders.
◊ Thomas C. McBrayer Jr., LPC
Tom graduated with a Master’s degree in Counseling from Georgia State University in 1976. He retired from the State of Georgia in 2005 with 34 years of service with the Department of Corrections and the Board of Pardons and Paroles. During his career, Tom supervised probationers and parolees, prepared psychological evaluations, conducted mental health assessments and counseled inmates prior to their return to the community.
Tom has maintained an active license in the State of Georgia as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1987. In addition to offering marriage / couple’s therapy with his wife, Tom also specializes in grief / bereavement counseling, care-giver issues, and life transitions.

Joni Herron, LPC, NCC
Joni has been a licensed therapist for 16 years. She graduated from Georgia State University with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2000 and her Master of Science in Professional Counseling in 2007. She has over 22 years of experience in Behavioral Health. She has worked in Residential, Inpatient, Outpatient, Rehab, and Private Practice settings. Joni has worked with individuals, couples, and families of all ages. She has served children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and military experiencing Behavioral, Mood, Psychotic, Neurodevelopmental, Personality, Substance Abuse, Dual, and Adjustment Disorders. Joni also has extensive experience working with multicultural and diverse populations.
Joni uses a Client-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral approach to help support and guide her clients to self-discovery and desired change. She strives to provide a safe, relaxed, non-judgmental counseling environment to accurately assess and treat clients. She believes that the therapeutic relationship is key to promoting healing and growth.
Joni was born and raised in Metro Atlanta. She currently lives in Peachtree City with her husband and four children. She enjoys spending time outdoors going on adventures, reading, coaching and watching her kids in sports, fishing, and supporting her local college and professional sports teams.
Erika Parker, Psychometrist
Erika graduated from BIOLA University in CA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Work.
Erika has been with The Neuropsychology Center since 2016. She is responsible for administering and scoring standardized psychological test batteries, and assisting Dr. Martinez with neuropsychological, cognitive, academic, and behavioral evaluations.
Erika lives in Peachtree City with her husband and three children. She enjoys traveling, reading, and singing.
